This is a Grasshopper routine that runs in Rhino3d and generates a fretted instrument fingerboard.
The controllable parameters are:
- Nut width
- Distance to inset the low and high strings from the nut
- String spacing at the saddle
- Scale length for both bass and treble allowing the user to create multi-scale fan fret fretboards
- Vertical fret for fan fret fingerboards
- The fret number to match the saddle width at
(usually 12 or 14) - Blind or through frets
- Binding width
- Length of fretboard beyond the last fret
- Version 1.2 now supports the 3d creation of the fingerboard
- It creates uniform, compound, and
derived compound radii fingerboards
