Tinozza Bass

This acoustic bass guitar is the Tinozza model, designed by RM Mottola, and mimics the sound of an upright bass more than most instruments of this type. It is very loud acoustically, with a fat, low end. It also comes with an internal pickup for amplification.

It gets its “upright bass sound” from the large body size, and the use of upright bass strings. Upright bass strings are longer than regular bass strings, and these strings are fed through the holes you see across the bottom of the instrument. Solid mahogany blocks secured to the tail narrow about 3.75″ of the way through and the string ends lodge into these. They are offset to the sides of the bridge in order to get the required 15 degree break angle needed for strings of this type.
